W14
I can’t believe we are finally to
week 14! I feel like this semester has gone by so fast, but has also been so
busy. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I’ve had to continue my
education, while working full time and that heavenly father has trusted in my
ability to do so. I feel truly blessed to have this opportunity, and I’m
thankful for my supportive husband and family that are cheering me on every
step of the way.
During this entrepreneur course, I’ve
learned a lot of things. One of them being that you have to be willing to take
a risk. Every successful entrepreneur that I’ve spoken with during this course,
has told me that. I like to think of myself as an adventurous person, but
taking risks are not my specialty. I often get worried about what people will
think, or stress about the outcome because I’m a planner, but I’ve realized if
I want to be successful in my ventures, I need to be willing to take risks.
Secondly, I’ve learned that
mistakes will be made, and mistakes are ok. This might be the biggest lesson I
needed to learn, because it’s hard to make mistakes and know that you’re
possibly letting people down. When I spoke with the two sisters at Raising Wild
they assured me that they make mistakes daily, but that doesn’t necessarily mean
they’re doing something wrong or something bad. Mistakes go hand in hand with
taking risks, and that’s why people often don’t take risks, is because they’re
worried about making mistakes. I know all humans make mistakes and we shouldn’t
be so hard on ourselves, because we are all learning every day. I think from
these mistakes we can learn how to become better and more successful, and I
truly think mistakes are healthy for us to learn from.
These are the two main things that I’ve
learned from this course, and it may not have necessarily been from the course
work, but it might have been points that I myself needed to learn more about
and focus on. I’m excited for the time when the dreams I’ve had for so long
come to life and I get to be a successful entrepreneur. I know that I will
continue to use these lessons in future endeavors, especially when my husband
graduates dental school and we start his own practice. I’m excited for the
future, and that I can also contribute to our future family business!
