This week was a great one for me. I had a lot of personal surprises and tender mercies that have happened this week that made it very special. It was also Thanksgiving this week, and so I had some of my in-laws come visit us in San Francisco. It’s been a great week with family and I’m feeling very thankful for the time with them, and for the blessings my husband and I have.             I enjoyed reading the article, “Attitude of Money” by Stephen W. Gibson. He started the article with describing an analogy about prescription glasses. He said, " If I put on these other glasses, I can not only still see you clearly, but it changes the way you look. Why? Because in these glasses there is a filter - it alters the way things appear. As I look through these glasses your faces appear dark... We all have filters in our minds which change the way we 'see' things."...

This week was awesome for me. I felt like I was able to focus a lot on my schoolwork, and that I was able to get my homework done in a timely manner. I really enjoyed being able to talk to two of my idols, Kara and Shelly and ask them some entrepreneur questions. They were extremely helpful, sweet, and funny. They were so generous to take time out of their day to help me with my paper, and to just be a friend to someone they don’t even know. They had some really great input regarding starting a business and I know that when I start something for myself in the future, that I will go back to this conversation and my notes and remember the advice they gave me. The one thing that stuck out to me the most, was that they said they’re 100% moms and also 100% Raising Wild. This obviously doesn’t add up, but I was impressed to see that they’re giving their all to both things they’re heavily involved in, and see how dedicated they are to being working mothers. I can’t believe it’s Thanksgivi...

This week was extremely easy in this class, with not many assignments due. I am extremely excited about the Entrepreneur Interview that I’m doing with Kara & Shelly from Raising Wild swimsuits! I have been a huge fan of theirs before they even got on Shark Tank and I’m so excited to see their answers and responses to my questions. They seem like such wonderful women and mothers of 4, I really don’t know how they balance it all! They also come from a really wonderful family and I am super envious of their large, and tight-knit family. I really hope that Tanner and I can teach our children to be close and be best friends. I really enjoyed the Stanford video on the “Aspects of Building Trust”. I loved that we are told to trust people, because if we do then they will trust us in return. Trust is a hard concept to live by, because there are so many reasons to not trust our neighbors, but it’s something I’m working on. I also loved the analogy he describes as people either being a ba...

This week was challenging for me. I went to the doctor again for some help with expanding our family. I heard more unfortunate news and have to continue with blood work and tests and it’s all a waiting game. I have been extremely down with myself, towards my husband, friends, and especially my Heavenly Father. It has been hard for me to be able to cope with my disappointment when I have friends telling me every week that they’re pregnant. I can only be so happy for them without feeling awful and sad for myself. I am hopeful though, because I know it could be much worse. Reading “However Long and Hard the Road” was good for me. Although it was intended for young single adults, I was still able to incorporate it into my own life as well. It was good to hear from one of my most favorite apostles and his wife on how to get through hard times.  Something that stuck out to me was that, “we should never surrender”.  We should never give up no matter how hard our t...
