This week
was a great one for me. I had a lot of personal surprises and tender mercies
that have happened this week that made it very special. It was also
Thanksgiving this week, and so I had some of my in-laws come visit us in San
Francisco. It’s been a great week with family and I’m feeling very thankful for
the time with them, and for the blessings my husband and I have.
I enjoyed
reading the article, “Attitude of Money” by Stephen W. Gibson. He started the
article with describing an analogy about prescription glasses. He said, "If I
put on these other glasses, I can not only still see you clearly, but it
changes the way you look. Why? Because in these glasses there is a filter - it
alters the way things appear. As I look through these glasses your faces appear
dark... We all have filters in our minds which change the way we 'see'
things."
Gibson explained that the way wee see things are a
combination of what filters others have placed in our minds. He said, "These filters, ideas, beliefs, opinions and teachings get
into our minds when we are very young and color and form the way we perceive or
see things and issues. That is why so many of us think just like our parents
think on so many issues when we are young."
Gibson
then went on to explain the importance of understanding and thinking about
money.
1. What is your attitude toward money? My attitude towards money is positive, but I also wish we didn’t have to deal with the stresses of money. So many people focus too much on money that it makes life stressful.

2. How can your view of money affect the way you live?
I think that money can affect the way we live, because like I said previously, it stresses people out, and it controls the way you live your life.
3. What rules are recommended for prospering?
I think the best rule towards having a prosperous life is
being able to keep a budget. My husband and I have always had a budget that we’ve
stuck to, and because of this I’m confident that we can pay off our student
loans, start a family, and live a happy life with doing activities that we care
for.
