I felt like this week was really focused on continuing to learn. I also wrote about this on my Discussion board posting, because I think it's a very important principal to remember.
The
most important thing that I took from this article about Magdalena Yesil, was
to never stop learning. I think Magdalena was a wonderful example of constantly
wanting to learn, to grow, and to be her best self. She talks about her wok
experiences being like, “the MBA she never got”. When I was first married, I
was offered a position to go full time in the Marketing Department, and I
hadn’t received my Bachelor’s yet. My husband and I were freshly married, he
was in school full time preparing for Dental School, and it was an amazing
offer, with better pay and we couldn’t dismiss it. I felt like at times I was
learning more in my Marketing position than I would at school sitting in
classes. I then went to work full time and put my schooling aside for the time
being, and it was the best decision I made. I felt like I learned more than I
ever could at that time of my life. I really enjoyed how Magdalena, a
successful businesswoman, made it apparent that you should never stop learning,
pushing yourself, and that you can always become a better version of yourself.
I hope that I can keep this article, and concept close to my heart to remember to
never give up, and to keep learning because good things will happen!
